LS Cable & System (Chairman & CEO: Christopher Koo) has completed development of a magnetic resonance wireless transmission system as the first in Korea and on the 26th showcased a demonstration model. Magnetic resonance wireless charging induces a consistent magnetic field into a transmission coil to have it resonate with a receiving coil. As with two tuning forks resonating with each other to generate sound, power is transmitted by setting the wavelengths of two copper coils to resonate within the same magnetic field. This system requires a resonator at each end of the circuit to generate a resonating transmission frequency. High-efficiency transmission becomes possible when the resonant frequencies of the two resonators match precisely. Therefore, according to LS Cable & System, this system requires a high level of technological know-how.
