Unfortunately, for those who are using the WordPress.com Free WordPress Hosting, uploading and embedding the audio directly is not an option. The only real option is to link directly to an external audio file and rely on the individuals browser to play it. When we move onto the more advanced WordPress self hosting later on in this series you will be able to upload and embed your own audio files directly into your posts using a separate plugin.
